Fear and loneliness were Cassie’s only friends as she walked the streets one Friday night. She was trying to leave her life of prostitution and addiction, but what a difficult road that was to walk alone. She had been in correctional facilities before and was pursuing a different, more stable life, but the warrant for her arrest weighed heavy on her shoulders. Living in fear had become normal as she desired to do the right thing, but couldn’t bring herself to do it.
What she didn’t know that Friday night was that there was a Rahab Street Ministry team praying in the parking lot in preparation to begin walking those same streets. Asking the Lord to guide their steps, they were faithful in following his leading straight to Cassie!
Cassie had encountered one of the members of this particular street team from her time in the local correctional facility and immediately broke down. Through her tears, she explained that she was living in fear as a result of her warrant. She desperately wanted to turn herself in, but she didn’t know how to do that alone.
That’s when the Rahab Street Team assured her they would be with her every step of the way.
The team prayed over Cassie, and, together, they brought Cassie to the local jail where she made the brave decision to turn herself in, face her consequences, and begin a life of freedom. Praise the Lord for opportunities to come alongside women as they make courageous decisions about their lives!
