RAHAB Ministries is proud to provide community trainings for those who may be volunteering or working with survivors as well as those interested in learning more about the issue of human trafficking. Below are the training topics that are currently being offered by RAHAB Ministries’ staff. Please scroll down to find and register for an upcoming RAHAB training session.

Human Trafficking 101

Duration: 1.5 Hours

Who it is for: This course is offered to all members of the community who would like to understand human trafficking and is required for all of RAHAB’s volunteers and staff.

Essentials Training

Duration: 1 Hour

Who is it for: This course is offered to all community members managing and de-escalating crises in their personal or professional lives. This is beginner level training.

Who is it for: This course is designed for individuals within the community who work in caregiving roles that may result in burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, or secondary traumatic stress disorder.

Social Media, Pornography, and Sex Trafficking

Duration: 1.25 Hours

Who is it for: This training is designed for anyone in the community who wants to understand the impact of social media and pornography on the sex trafficking industry. This course will include additional recommended resources.

Please consider a suggested donation of $20 (or more!) with your registration to cover the cost of your training session. While trainings are available free of charge so that no one may be excluded based on their ability to pay, when you make a donation as part of your training registration, you allow more of RAHAB’s donated dollars to be directed to support those who have been directly affected by trafficking.

Human Trafficking 101

Duration: 1 Hour

What it is: HT 101 is an essential teaching on the realities of human trafficking. In this course, we will illuminate the issues of sex trafficking, explain a generalized process for how someone becomes involved in trafficking, and provide practical insight of how trafficking takes place. We will also highlight what we know about traffickers, how someone becomes vulnerable to trafficking, and how demand for commercial sex fuels sex trafficking. By the end of this course, you will be able to articulate the needs and vulnerabilities of trafficking survivors and have knowledge of practical solutions

Caring for the Soul

Duration: 1 Hour

What is it: Caring for the Soul seeks to equip all participants with the tools to develop a self-care routine to prevent emotional fatigue. This training will explore the connections between self-care and resiliency. Throughout the session, we will differentiate between burn out, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and secondary traumatic stress disorder. We will also highlight the signs that may indicate someone is experiencing negative effects from care-related work. By the training's conclusion, participants will assess their current self-care practices and explore methods they can use to tangibly build awareness, balance, and connection. “Caring for the Soul” observes self-care from a biblical perspective.

Who is it for: This course is designed for individuals within the community who work in caregiving roles that may result in burnout, compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, or secondary traumatic stress disorder.

Social Media, Pornography, and Sex Trafficking

Duration: 1.25 Hours

What is it: This training will examine the connections between social media, pornography, and sex trafficking. The material will reveal how exploiters use social media for grooming and recruitment into trafficking, and to distribute sex trafficking content. This training will also discuss how social media is perpetuating the issue of sextortion and examine its local impact. Participants will be taught the impact pornography has on a user's behavior and its influence on the demand for sex trafficking. By the end of, attendees will understand the overlap between social media, pornography, and the sex trafficking industry as well as receive tangible resources to implement for internet safety.

Who is it for: This training is designed for anyone in the community who wants to understand the way social media and pornography impact the sex trafficking industry. There will be recommended resources in this course as well.

The Basics of Crisis Management and De-Escalation

Duration: 1 Hour

What is it: This training course will build your skills in identification, intervention, and de-escalation of a crisis. In this course, we will describe what a crisis is, identify your role in crisis management, and practice the techniques necessary to de-escalate and intervene in a crisis. By the end of this training, you will be able to de-escalate someone experiencing a crisis, intervene in a crisis appropriately, and execute necessary follow-up care. BCD has several activities and requires group participation. BCD is not a Crisis Prevention Intervention course.

Trauma 101

Duration: 1.5 Hours

What it is: Trauma 101 is one of our essential training courses. In this course we will describe the neurological impact of trauma and its effect on the body, explain how trauma without intervention leads to lifelong health and social issues, and highlight the importance of early interventions to enable healing in the individual. By the end of this course, you will be able to identify examples of traumatic incidents, articulate the impact of trauma on the brain, and understand how trauma manifests in someone’s reactions.   Trauma 101 is recommended in combination with Human Trafficking 101 
 
 Who it is for: This course is offered to all members of the community who would like to better serve and work with those who have trauma and is required for all of RAHAB’s volunteers and staff. 

Essentials Training

Duration: 3 Hours

What it is: Essentials Training will include the content of both Human Trafficking 101 and Trauma 101. We offer these two courses in one setting in order to equip all of RAHAB's volunteers and staff with their necessary trainings.
